There are activities for kids of all ages.  Children are welcome to stay with their parents to attend sessions or participate in the activities provided. 

                                           This year's kids activities will be provided by Safe Kids. Safe Kids Worldwide is a global

                                            organization dedicated to protecting kids from unintentional injuries, the number one

                                           cause of death to children in the United States.  This year at the 2018 Family Matters event,

                                           Safe Kids will topics such as Fire Safety, Water Safety, Cyber Safety, Stranger Safety, Bike and                                               Pedestrian Safety, and Passenger Safety all with a focus on the needs of children who are                                                    Deaf or Hard of Hearing through fun and engaging activities for kids.

Children's Agenda

School-age children will be assigned to a “Team.”  Each team’s activities will be led by a certified teacher of the Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing.  Each team will include adult volunteers to maintain a low adult to student ratio. ​  This kids will rotate through our Safe Kids presentations and activities.

For Families with Infants and Toddlers in our Daycare rooms:

Please note: Due to the broad variety of needs and appetites of infants and toddlers we ask that you provide the meals for your small child for the day.  Please pack enough milk or formula, snacks, and a bag lunch for your young child.  There will be a cooler available for storing bottles and lunches.

What to Bring:

  • For infants - Bottles with enough milk or formula for the day
  • Lunch and Snacks (A cooler to store items will be provided.)
  • Diapers
  • Change of clothes
  • Favorite blanket and comfort item for nap time.   (Nap mats will be available on site, as well as a few Pack-n-Plays.)
  • Sippy Cup
  • Please label all items with your child’s name
